| Studio Update:
Happy New Year
and
Best Wishes
for a
Prosperous, Fun, and Creative Decade
Upon reflection
there were many highlights in a seemingly dark 2009, and I have
hopes for an excellent decade to come.

Art Tutorials
2009 brought about
six new art tutorials in which I encourage artists and viewers to
see art in a fresh way.
I have a simple view
of art: learn the fundamentals and be on the lookout for new
discoveries and techniques--knowledge enables your imagination,
giving you freedom to express things that were previously beyond
your capabilities.
The Four Seasons by
Daud Akhriev
One highlight of 2009
was the installation of two of Daud Akhriev's Four Seasons on
Market Street Bridge spanning the Tennessee River in downtown
Chattanooga, Tennessee. The sculptures are nine foot bronze female
nudes, a gift to the city from private donors, and the Benwood and
Lyndhurst Foundations.

Daud was one of the
artists in the group show,

showing two of his recent landscapes from Morocco.
