February, 2010
In January we had a wonderful figure drawing workshop, Zoom!, with George, Linda, Lynne, Jessica, Way, and Susan. Thanks guys for your feedback about the workshop.

Zoom! is the concept for this month's tutorial, it is about creating movement in figure drawing. At the end of this month I will be giving this same workshop in St. Petersburg, Florida.

I just talked with my good friend, artist Mary Woodul, she was our host for the San Luis Potosi Workshop we did in 2008. She is more than keen to host again at her Ranch in Mexico, sometime in July, 2010. Get out the sunscreen and hats!

I am also very keen about the upcoming Symbolic Still Life group exhibition at the Newberry Gallery in March.

I hope you enjoy this month's newsletter.

Cheers,

Michael Newberry

Each Art Tutorial focuses on one creative problem--whether it is about the colors of light and shadow or how to create movement in drawing. I will guide you through the problem to its resolution.

Not only for students and professionals, the tutorials will also enhance the experience for everyone who collects art or would like to.

New Art Tutorial

Michelangelo's dictum, movement equals emotion, is one of the most important theories in visual art. Creating a sense of movement is a technical problem, made more fascinating since drawings and paintings don't move. So how does an artist create movement in what is essentially a still medium?
