Hot Reflection, 2007, pastel on paper, 18x25"

In this last year I have focused on prioritizing my lights and darks in my drawings. With this pastel I am prioritizing my colors. The hot red and it's reflection on the coffee mug, a gift from a dear friend, were my main focus for splashes of color. In contrast to the red I enjoyed using a lot of cool blues, violets, greens in the more muted foreground and background.
