Himalayan Flight, 2006, charcoal on Rives BFK, 19x26" $2,300

A little while ago a dear friend gave me a white silk scarf acquired while on her trek in the Himalayas. That is what set off this composition and theme. I love to think about the symbolism of the objects in a still life, indeed, that inspires me just as much as the beauty and arrangement of the objects.  I see the silk scarf as the white mountain peaks, the ellipses of the bowls as planets, and glass bird as soaring flight to the highest point.
