A wedge
of light, a layer of transparency, or a
powerful pattern will draw my attention and
inspire me to draw and paint the things that
give that effect. But there is much more
than formal compositional elements involved
in interiors: there is a feeling of
sanctuary.
Somewhere, deep in facebook, a friend
commented that everyone should have a bed
with a nice down comforter. I think everyone
should have a special room; like an art
studio. Part art store, with pastels, paper,
stretcher bars everywhere. And palettes, and
smells of oil, varnish, and coffee. And
music in the air. And a feeling as if there
is no other better place to be.
